Los Bridgerton can boast of having several characters capable of connecting with the audience. Even if they are not the protagonists of the season, sometimes they manage to conquer the audience with their mere presence. An example is Violet or Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), the matriarch of the family and one of the characters that has awakened the most sympathies in all of us.

Her way of leading the family, accompanying her children in their comings and goings, and rejoicing in their happiness is truly tender. But also, the third season has given us another reason why we need her to star in her own spin-off. And considering the success of Queen Charlotte, this idea is not very far-fetched.

Lady Bridgerton is much more than mere support for her children during their journey to arrange a marriage, she is also a character with many layers that has a story that deserves to be told. Largely because of the relationship she had with her husband Edmund and the consequences of his death for her. Or because of the friendship she shares with Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh).

The marriage of Violet Bridgerton to Viscount Edmund Bridgerton has been one of the most interesting points of Bridgerton since the first season premiered. Unfortunately, this love story ended when Edmund died from a bee sting, leaving Violet alone to raise her children.

If there were a spin-off focused on her, we would know how this whole story happened and why Violet had such an idealized view of her husband. However, it's not something that is currently being considered and it's also far from happening in the books, because Julia Quinn has no intention of writing anything about them at the moment.

After Edmund's death, Violet had no intention of falling in love again. But circumstances have forced her to change her plans. The third season of the series introduced Lady Danbury's brother, Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), and all signs point to him being her new love interest. It's too early to say if Lord Anderson will be Violet's new love, but an independent series could help develop the blossoming of this romance in depth.

A unique and important story

One of the reasons why Violet Bridgerton deserves to have her own spin-off is because she is one of the most influential and tender characters in the series. Also, from a practical point of view, her journey defines the entire Bridgerton dynasty, laying the foundations for the main plot.

Violet has shown on several occasions that she masters the art of navigating society, and seeing her as the protagonist of her own story can be very exciting and fascinating. On the other hand, if we know her origins, it can also be easier to understand the perspective of each of her children.

Aside from this, we must consider the emotional aspect that Violet Bridgerton's story hides. Although we saw in Queen Charlotte what sometimes painful consequences love can have, Violet's path is marked by tragedy. It is true that all the drama of the original series takes place behind closed doors and under the gaze of high society, but the protagonists do not suffer for longer than necessary.

In fact, if Violet's story and what happens after her husband's death were narrated, the series would take a very different - and more painful - direction than what we are used to seeing.

Another possible option

Taking into account all the aforementioned reasons, Violet Bridgerton is the ideal candidate to have her own spin-off. However, if the creators decide to take another direction, there is another possible candidate: Lady Danbury.

Lady Danbury

Like Queen Charlotte and Violet, Lady Danbury is a character that speaks to multiple generations of characters. Choosing her as the protagonist of her own series would allow Bridgerton to follow the model of Queen Charlotte and also highlight a character who normally has a more secondary role.

It is true that the first Bridgerton spin-off already focused on the relationship between Lady Danbury and Carlota, but if there were a series more centered on her, we could delve deeper and reflect on her role in society. 

What the creator says

About this idea of delving into Violet Bridgerton's origins, producer Shonda Rhimes has spoken about it, although without giving many clues as to whether it will ever happen or not. In one of her statements on the matter, Rhimes said that "there are no plans to explore anyone in particular... Although, in writing [the spin-off of 'Queen Charlotte'] I became very interested in Violet's story. So, we'll see."

However, even though it's not clear whether we will see it, her evolution in the third season suggests that this character truly deserves to continue on this path, whether through an independent series or not.
