This is the series that has dethroned 'The Acolyte' on Disney+: an animation gem to watch with the family
This fiction is suitable for both children and adults and is a great phenomenon on the platform.
25 June, 2024 10:55The great June premiere on Disney+ has been The Acolyte, the Star Wars universe series, but subscribers to the platform have also chosen among the catalog titles another series that has ended up being the most watched. It's the Bluey animated series, a fiction that has become especially popular among the children's audience but has also been highly acclaimed by critics and adult viewers.
This Australian production created by Joe Brumm could be considered the best children's series of recent years and aired its first episodes in 2018. It might seem like a series that could mix the essence of many others, but goes beyond the rest, addressing themes such as the difficulty of making decisions, resolving conflicts, and understanding the world that surrounds children while having a great time with the rest of the family. Because even adults will want to keep watching episode after episode.
Bluey follows the adventures of a Blue Heeler puppy and her family, and in each episode imagination fills the screen, giving rise to many different games involving Bluey and her sister Bingo along with their parents.
Through a very refreshing humor that also appeals to the adult audience, the series dares to address certain themes and learnings that are essential during childhood, drawing a conflict in each chapter and following a line that does not always have to be straight to the final moral.
One of the main reasons why Bluey could be considered the best recent children's series is its way of connecting with the audience and identifying real-world problems, presenting them to children without transforming the message and undervaluing their intelligence.
There are episodes about the use of imagination, how parents play with their children, how to set boundaries, the fact that teasing can be good or bad, and it presents the youngest with the most useful tools to solve a problem.
And what's more, it does so directly and through characters that are very human - despite having the form of a dog - who make mistakes like them and who remember the value that children have and what they can contribute on their own to the rest of the family.
Although perhaps Bluey is configured as a children's animated series, it is also an excellent proposal to watch as a family, because even adults will be captivated by the charm of the characters and the realism portrayed on the screen from innocence and humor.
The series already has three seasons and among its most notable episodes, of ten minutes duration, we find some like Rattlina, Mom's and Dad's, or Tornado and the Wise Old Wolf Dog, which address such important issues as gender roles, bullying, or the need to go to the hospital.
Bluey also stands out for its way of addressing parents and their relationship with their children, also talking about couple relationships or how to deal with the inexhaustible energy of children, among many other things.
An exciting season finale
Those who may be looking for a good starting point to dive into the series can start with The Cartel, the last episode of the third season. In this special episode, the protagonist, Bingo, mom, dad, and all their family and friends prepare for the "wedding event of the year," in an exciting special filled with adventures, romance, and emergency stops for bathroom breaks.
A season finale that entertains and moves us in its 30 minutes. It may be the most beautiful - and tearful - episode of the series to date.
